Ho'Oponopono

An Ancient Hawaiian Forgiveness Practice

This powerful technique is used for self-forgiveness, releasing negative emotions, and healing relationships.

The Prayer

I’m sorry

Please forgive me

Thank you

I love you

Why use this prayer?

Repentance - I’m sorry

Acknowledges and takes responsibility for any actions or thoughts that may have caused harm or disharmony.

Forgiveness - Please forgive me

Asks for forgiveness from oneself and others for any mistakes or wrongs

Gratitude - Thank you

Expresses appreciation for the opportunity to learn and grow, and for the support of others

Love - I love you

Offers unconditional love and acceptance to oneself and others, including those who may have caused harm

Types of Forgiveness

Hala

Hala means “to miss the path” “error or omission”

This is where we don’t realize we’ve done something to hurt someone, it can also be denial, avoidance, feeling sorry for self, unknowingly doing something to bother or hurt, or guilt

Hewa

When we go overboard, to the excess, excesses, obsessions, addictions, perfectionism, anger, hate, revenge

Ino

To do intentional harm to someone with hate in mind, stonewalling, name calling, gaslighting.

Ho’oponopono - the ancient Hawaiian forgiveness practice functions both as a communication concept for reconciliation and a tool for restoring self-love and balance.

As a forgiveness practice, it is deeply resonant as it tends to penetrate our inner dialogue over time.

Part of the reason why this practice is so powerful is that it first requires you to acknowledge that wrong was done. Having other people acknowledge our feelings is a universal need. In Ho’oponopono it is possible to find it in your heart to forgive yourself and others.

I will teach you how to use the meditation prayer as a daily practice.

Use a 7-minute guided meditation process for deeper reconciliation.

Use a 45-minute guided meditation process to clear the baggage holding you back.

Help you understand what forgiveness is - and what it is not.

Ho’o - to make

Pono - right with self

Pono - right with others
